Thanks to everyone who had donated to the Vestry Screen/Open Church project. With the Gift aid rebate the figure as of Tuesday 16th was £2,300 – a little over 1/3 of the remaining costs (including VAT).
We are applying for grants – any help with that would be appreciated – and obviously any further donations would be very welcome. Aside from the physical work of putting the screen in place and any further security measures we can afford at this stage we will also need to work on how we welcome people when they come in. I will be looking for volunteers to help plan that. Maurice
Update: a grant of £2000 has been received from the Englefield Trust (where Jenny Biggar used to work). This means that we are now in a position to go ahead with the first part of the work, but may still need to raise funds for the additional security measures.
