An activity club for children attending infant and junior school is being planned for the mornings of 1st, 2nd and 3rd June at Shinfield Baptist church.
It is envisaged that the club will cater for about 50 children in this, the first year of what it is hoped will become an annual event.
The 3 day Landlubbers club will have a distinct flavour of the sea, and will be led by a couple of pirate captains and volunteers from Shinfield Baptist church, with support from St Mary's Church crew and other old salts from across the Benefice.
There will be an Ecumenical & United Benefice launching service at St Mary's on Sunday 29th May at 10am, and an Ecumenical (Shinfield Baptists & St Mary's) docking service at Shinfield Parish hall on Sunday 5th June at 10am.
